Twin Cities' First Snowfall

Postcard from the Frozen North says: The first snowstorm of the season is a big deal, especially if you're in second grade. It rarely amounts to much, except for the promise of winter fun to come.

Keith Ellison Interview

SHARE IT:

Amanda Congdon interviews U.S. Congressional candidate Keith Ellison. She asks him about the beautiful chaos we call the blogosphere. Watch for screenshots from your local favorites - Minnesota Democrats Exposed and MN Publius.

Perhaps more significantly, Amanda asks Keith about what book he'd be sworn in on if elected to congress.

(Disclaimer, etc: I produced the online video ad discussed in this interview for the Ellison campaign. Also, they discussed the environment but loud plane noise made that portion of the interview diffucult to hear.)

NEXT WEEK we have some funny, funny videos sent in by y'all. Keep 'em coming and have a great weekend.

Amanda Interviews Chuck

Please excuse the narcissism. Amanda Congdon was in Minneapolis last week as part of her Amanda Across America vlog trip and simply insisted on interviewing me about Minnesota Stories, Blogumentary, and assorted geek video topics. How could I refuse?

Coming soon: Additional interview about the differences between filmmaking and videoblogging.

12:15 PM - Death
Current mood: Ready to KILL KILL KILL!!!

I'm going to fuck cancer up the ass! So fuck you cancer, get ready to die!

Wednesday, June 14, 2006
9:26 AM - Thee Tumor in Me Gut
Current mood: awake

I had a CT Scan last week and my two-inch tumor has shrunk to half it's size. The evil chemo appears to be working!

I am now halfway through my treatment. 3 more to go, I should be finished on August 11, just on time to attend my little brother's wedding in Kalamazoo on August 26. It will indeed be a great celebration.

Having cancer has been a blessing to me. I've gotten my shit together, snapped out of my depression, quit smoking "cigarettes", stopped drinking, eat a vegan diet, and appreciate all my lovely friends and family, who have supported me so well through this experience.

If facing death is what it takes to finally live, I'd do it all over again.

Uzza bless you!

2:53 PM - Farewell Old Enemy
Current mood: calm

At this moment I am cancer free!

I want to thank all the wonderful friends out there who have helped me through this rough time! Uzza bless them...

Now I must get my band back together and start writing again.

Carly Stipe makes purses and other items out of duct tape. She has been featured on public television and has won awards.

Investigative Report: Mark Kennedy Ad

Thought I forgot, did you? No, just very busy - mostly editing the fine videos you should watch at AmandaAcrossAmerica.

Here is a rather long look at how easy and legal it is to find and watch campaign videos on the web site of Mark Kennedy's ad maestro, Scott Howell. Here's the backstory if that makes no sense to you. Incidentally, most of the videos and web pages referenced in this video have since been taken down, though only today I discovered another video publicly available and easily findable on archive.org. That particular video poops out after a few seconds, but it sure makes me feel like clearing some brush.

Twin Cities Marathon Course

From YouTube user implaxis: This is most of the course for the Twin Cities Marathon. I wasn't able to get all of it this first time through because my cam battery died right about Mile 19.

Here are a few seconds of the marathon winner near the finish line.

COMPLETELY UNRELATED VIDEO:
Smackem Yackem, brilliant and entertaining bubble gum from Jennifer Proctor and Aaron Valdez down in Iowa City. I'll be heading down there in a couple week to talk vlog and screen Blogumengtary.
