In the Heart of the Beast puppet and mask theater held its 32nd annual May Day Parade and Festival on Sunday, May 7, 2006.
This years May Day theme was situated around the question "what do we want Minneapolis to look like in 50 years?" The envisioned future provides for the Common Good and cultivates the Common Wealth, where each person is an honored and responsible citizen.

As confused as I was, That was still pretty interesting -- a little scary maybe. I've never been to a May Day celebration though.
I went to my first May Day parade and celebration on Sunday. I was amazed at how many people were there. It was a great time. In the Heart of the Beast puts on quite a show!
Excellent! I did manage to do a video of the parade that I put on "youtube" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDHKCOiQ5Ow) but I had crummy seats for the ceremony. I'm so glad to see you did it up right.

Sweet! I'm glad you got the parade, Paul, because I missed most of that. I got there late and ducked out early so I could get a good seat between all of the blankets on the hill for the ceremony. Two cameras are better than one!
Yay!
Paul -- and everyone -- if you're out there documenting stuff, send it my way. That stuff gets lost in the video sea on YouTube (your parade video has 22 views there so far) -- I'd love to feature some of your stuff here in the future.
Minnesota Stories: Way fucking cooler than YouTube. :-)
