Lori's Garden Corner
April 11, 2006

Hey! Sorry, there is no new video for today. A guy's gotta work and sleep, you know. Have you watched us try to fry an egg on the sidewalk?

Okay you green thumbs, let's hear what you have going on in your basements and gardens. Maybe you can help Lorika figure out why most of her tomatoes don't seem to be sprouting. You'll hear all about our fledgling tomato empire in this video, enhanced with delicious backyard beer.

Be sure to keep up with the Strib's Green Girl if you're digging in the dirt. Lorika's Secret Farm blog and Flickr photos document our own backyard shenanigans (ahem) .

Maybe the seedlings just need beer.

Sorry, I don't know a thing about gardening. But I enjoyed this video. And now I'm going to buy some of that beer. I'll list you as a referrer. I love the photo-journalist style shot closing segment. I think you should make it a rule that all MNstories segments should end with a photojounalist-esque shot. Man, those things are priceless.

Tilburg is 'bout half hour drive from here.
Went to a Calexico concert there couple years
back, never tried the brown ale.

Good Jaerb honey! You didn't even make me look stupid - which is quite a feat.

Anyone have any tips? Anyone? Seriously - anyone?
(On the tomatoes that is...)

Update! I had 2 new sprouts today when I got home from work, that weren't there this morning. Those suckers move fast!

I had another Yellow Pear, and 1 Green Zebra. Here's crossing my fingers that leaving the covers off the trays again tonight will work more magic.

I have a friend whose favorite beer is Tilburg's. A few months ago he sent me a link to the artwork which is represented on their bottles: The Garden of Earthly Delights.

Check it out if you like depictions of the satanic, anal, orgy, imagined as Hell.
