Flickr Photowalk
April 28, 2006

Sure, these new-fangled "video blawgs" are neat and all, but my heart belongs to Flickr. I'm not even getting paid to say that. Flickr is like eyeball surfing around the world, only not as gross as that sounds.

Every month or so, photo geeks in the Twin Cities get together for a little photo excursion, aka a Flickr photowalk. This video is from a photowalk at the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory in St. Paul. Here are photos from that walk.

Look like fun? It is, and you can tag along on the April photowalk this Sunday, April 30 at 11am. It's at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market. UPDATE: Here are the photos from the rainyday outing.

That's awesome!! I'm sorry I missed that one, and the NEXT one, but I'll be up for future ones. The two I've been to so far were great fun.

That's a priceless expression on me in the first frame.

Hi Chuck,
I just watched without sound while listening to Doug Kaye explain Podcasting at Podcast Academy!

Looks like great fun!

I'm going to start one in Boston!

I don't post a lot on flickr anymore, because I was becoming a junkie and was spending way too much time tag surfing (which I still do in moderation). I'm sending this link to photo junkie friends...

Flickr is killer! If I spent any more time there, I'd be hospitilized for flickritis. I might need a flickrectomy.

SUPER carousel! Gorgeous!

*whew* Thank god I missed that one. I have a serious case of cameraphobia.

No wait, I *definitely* don't have that.

What I meant to say was that I have a serious case of videocameraphobia. All that live action Margaret freaks me out, yo!

Chuck - great idea about the Flickr Photo Walk. I don't know if it was your idea, but I am crediting you anyway.

And great shots of the monkey house. All the fun of being near monkeys wiuthout the smell. Oh, well. Soon the "smellivision" or something will beinvented so we can get the full experience.

Dolby Surround Smell - the latest innovation.

Flickr photowalks sure aren't my idea... i don't know the history, actually. perhaps someone from Flickr can tell us where/when they originated? sorta seems like a natural thing to spring up.

Too bad I just dropped my camera into Lake Minnetonka...

I watched the slideshow of the Como Park photos and loved it. Old carousels and merry-go-rounds are artistic treasures. Others, for example, are the ones in Missoula, Montana, and Glen Echo Park, Maryand.

Interesting fact I noticed in the photos from Como Park. Most of them were taken from the perspective of someone turning to her/his right, and few of them were taken from the perspective of someone turning to the left. Is this a lefthandednes/righthandedness thing?
