You might know Hans Eisenbeis as Editor-in-Chief of the much-loved Rake magazine. Some weirdness in his neighborhood prompted him to pick up a camera and wrassle with iMovie, all for you, dear viewer.

The final shot is a boarded up townhouse down the street from Hans. That's where the murder took place.

I love the juxtaposition of the mundane and the tragic.

Thanks for sharing.

After i finished this (the first net video i've done in probably seven years. Last time i tried it, it was the stone age. i was working in streaming Real Video and GIF animations), i caught up on my favorite vlog, Chasing Windmills. They were right in the midst of their hilarious episodes about how "Everyone is vlogging now. We'll just tape our lives and put it online!" and it made me feel like a goof for trying this.

It was pretty freaky to find out that there'd been a murder five doors down. My neighborhood isn't exactly Kenwood, but at least violent crime is a rarity.

It turned out not to have been a random thing at all, which is vaguely reassuring. I guess.

I'd thought about doing it the night of the murder, but I guess I couldn't work up the courage to go out and tape the cops and coronors and local TV guys, and I guess I was trying more to capture a weird mood.

Plus, I didn't know my car was gone until the morning. Then, of course, it became personal.

Hans,
We're all goofs; don't you get it?

Oh, and I wanted to shout-out Jessica Coulter, who helped shoot at the Mnpls. Impound lot (and drove my other car home).

Thanks Jessica!

Wow, some great storytelling in this video! Loved it! Man, I couldn't put my finger on that song, but I am certain I have the album...
