City Whitetails
January 17, 2006

Jeremy Wilker says: Relax from your stressful life with some calming images of nature... I grabbed these photos and short video in our backyard this past Saturday morning. The deer hung around for over three hours and it was mildly exciting to get the video footage (I was shaking a bit). And this is in the city, too! (well, 4.5 miles from downtown Minneapolis).

Those deer were all yearlings. This may explain why they were so unafraid of you. Great footage!

I wonder, was their stamping type walking a cautious thing, or an aggressive, "stay away" thing?

They were just beautiful!

The stamping was likely a warning to you and to each other to be wary, but they clearly didn't have the energy or will to run off into traffic! The tree they were resting under seemed perfect for them. What a nice visit from rare strangers! Thanks for shairng this video. The subtitles added a very nice human touch.

Ooooh! Bambies in your backyard? Hanging out and kissing and snacking? So close to the city? That's pretty special. Really nice footage. Soothing!

Man, I've got to get out of NYC.
