Ninja Sign
October 03, 2005

First watch this video. It's short. Are you watching? Good.

J.A. del Rosario happened to see this sign and had his camera handy. A couple of days later, this photo of a man holding the sign was in City Pages. I have to wonder: Did some witty prankster make the sign and leave it in public, hoping a homeless guy would use it? Or had it been abandoned by one witty panhandler, and picked up by another?

Hooray, a new vlogger in town! J.A. recently moved here with his girlfriend. See also: Chasing Windmills, "a collection of sketches revolving around a young couple."

Great hour on MPR. It was funny how Christal sounded like my brother.

This video gives me a good idea: I should get a job writing panhandling signs. I could work on comission.

What's really odd about this is that 2 weeks ago I saw a guy in NYC with that same sign. Well not literally that same sign, but it had the same thing written on it. How odd!

docmaker -- weird! is this some sort of spreading panhandler meme?

yeah, there's definitely a weird "thing" going on. I saw a kid with that sign on the same corner, and later found a picture that's been circulating on the internets.

this is sad ... I got to find this guy because: 1) it's so sad and moving; 2) I could use some lessons; and 3) I got plenty of food to spare
